Although I like them both, I think I prefer todays painting best because there is more color in the bottom of the painting ... carrying your eye down and through the painting. Just my thoughts.
I also like the 2nd ptg better. It looks like the flowers are engaged with me while the 1st one looks like they are avoiding making eye contact w/me. Crazy, I know.
