Reflection - 12 x 12 inches - oil on canvas

"Reflection" - 12 x 12 inches - oil on canvas
Since my previous wine bottle painting sold at the Westford Package Store, I decided to paint another one to fill the empty spot.

I thought long and hard about what to name this painting and have drawn a blank.  I posted it on Facebook and asked for suggestions.  Here are the responses:

"Me and my Shadow"
"Waiting for Good Dough"
"Worth the Wait"
"Mommy's Little Helper”
The cheese stands alone
I'm being followed by a wine shadow!
bottle a red (ala Billy Joel)
 Stress Reliever
 "The Shadow"
"Shades of Red to Gray"

Ok, now it is your turn!  What would you name this painting?  I'll announce the winning name in my next post.

This "Reflection" painting  is a 12 x 12 inch oil on canvas painting.  The sides are painted black so framing is optional.  $125.  Click the Buy Now button below o purchase using a credit card or click here for other payment options.

"Cooper" - 8 x 8 inches - oil on canvas

"Cooper" - 8 x 8 inches - oil on canvas
First off, congrats to Valerie B. who won my give-away for February.  I'll be sending her one of my original paintings from my "30 Paintings in 30 Days" that I completed in January.  Each month I give-away a prize to someone on my mailing list, to sign up and become eligible, click here

This is a portrait of our rescue dog Cooper.  I went a little wild with the colors since I was only painting it to please myself.  This kind of reminds me of a Leroy Neiman painting with its vibrant color and loose brushwork.  I did this on a whim after my daughter posted a picture of Cooper on her twitter account.  I just liked his expression and wanted to capture it on canvas.  I've painted Cooper probably 4 or 5 times so there is no chance the family will ever forget him!

As a reminder, I accept commissions for pet and house portraits.  More information and pricing can be found by clicking here.

"Shoulder to Shoulder" - 12 x 12 inches - oil on canvas - SOLD

"Shoulder to Shoulder" - 12 x 12 inches - oil on canvas
Recently, the Art on Main gallery has been reaching out to other local businesses to expand our reach into the community.  We just teamed up with the Westford Package Store, a family owned business that has been in town since the 1950s.  They recently expanded their space and asked if we wanted to hang some artwork in their venue.  I've never really painted liquor bottles but figured this would be a great subject for their walls.

I'm not much of a drinker (unless you count water and tea), so I had to raid a friend's liquor cabinet for some sources of inspiration.  Bottles are really, really hard to paint.  It is really hard to make them symmetrical!  I felt like a needed a glass of wine after finishing this one.  Lo and behold, a few days after the hanging, I got a call that the painting sold right off the wall at the Westford Package Store.  How cool is that?

Art on Main is having our monthly open house on Thurs, March 6 from 5 - 8 p.m.  The Westford Package Store is providing a sampling of their wines for our patrons.  We will also have some traditional Irish music provided by 2 members of  Sligo Trad.  So, if you live in the Westford, MA area, stop by!
