Pop! - SOLD

Pop!  - oil on canvas - 16 x 16 inches - SOLD
I'm excited to announce that my painting, Pop!, was accepted into the "FEAST: Images of the Edible" show at Gallery Seven.   The show runs through April 2, 2016 with the opening reception on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 7 - 9 p.m.  Everyone is welcome!

This was really fun to paint as the kernels seemed to literally pop off the canvas.  I started with a pink wash over my entire canvas but I left 25 white areas for the kernels.  I then blocked in the background color.  One by one, I painted each kernel and really paid attention to their unique forms and color.  Below are some progress photos:

Really lovely Laurie. Popcorn is my favorite food group. There is not a time when popcorn is not appropriate, :-)
