"Boston Cream Stack" - 8 x 8 inches - oil on canvas

I was recently hearing a lot of chatter about "National Doughnut Day" and didn't realize that it was actually a real thing.  Here is what I found out: "National Doughnut Day is on the first Friday of June each year, succeeding the Doughnut Day event created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I." 

Because there was so much recent talk of donuts, I was inspired to paint this stack of Boston Cream Donuts.  I specifically picked the "Boston Cream" in honor of the Boston Bruins advancing to compete in the Stanley Cup playoffs....go Bruins!
