Overflow - 12 x 12 inches - Oil on canvas - SOLD

I recently read a book on color theory by Betty Edwards. Betty talks about color choices and selecting colors that work well together. This painting uses primarily analogous colors…those that are next to each other on the color wheel...greens - blues and purples. I think this makes for a "quiet" painting. If I had added an object with a color like yellow, orange or red, it would have changed the entire feeling of the painting.

Well done painting...

I sometimes paint things that are primarily analogous, but rarely. You know...... there is just a TOUCH of warm in the lower left plum... and it makes it a bit happier!!! (LOL)

Great job.

Looking good, Laurie -
The skin on these looks really good - and that little bit of light poking through the bottom between the plum and the carton and the little bit of light underneath that plum on the lower left, oh and not to mention the reflection under it on very, very left - oh - I love it!
